The various visual elements that go into a film are more often than not designed. In order to achieve a kind of visual unity throughout the narrative, it is important to have a cohesive vision that correlates locations, setting, costumes, props and camera strategies. It is out of the need to have a co-ordinated control over all the visual elements of a film, that the profession of production designing was created.

A Production Designer is the key person responsible for selecting locations, creating settings, and maintaining unity between make-up, costumes and sets. The actual overall look of a filmed event such as Feature Films, Television programs, Music Videos or Advertisments is determined by his or her expertise. From early pre-production, the production designer collaborates with the Director and Director of Photography to establish a unified on-screen visual reality according to the conceptual possibilities inherent in any given project.

At Digital Academy, the production design course offers compact, seriously effective and direct-experience-driven knowledge to enable the students to achieve the proficiency to convert a project's visual potential, a believable on-screen reality. The combination of in-depth theoretical analysis with participation-based practical experience regarding script breakdown, visualization, set illustration, model making, set dressing and set analysis in the course will ensure that they can enter the field of the entertainment with lucrative career prospects as hardcore professionals.

COURSE DURATION: 78 sessions of 3 hours a day over 6 months.(Weekend batches also offered)
