Why and how are we different from other film schools? We don’t claim to be, we just do things differently! Our core strength remains in the fact that many of our contemporaries do not offer short, intensive and hands-on courses. Those who do, do not have such well-equipped facilities teamed under one roof. The thought that goes into designing each of our courses sets us far ahead of the others. Our courses are designed to turn you into an entertainment professional and not merely a technician.
Our film school makes it possible for students to make their own films and projects in a realistic professional work environment. We use cutting edge technology like Professional DV, HDV, Sony DSR 450, Sony D55, Beta, Red, 16 mm and 35 mm Arriflex cameras, Beta Recorders, FCP and Avid along with Combustion, 3D Max, Character Studio, and Maya Unlimited. We also use both Protools and Nuendo recording suite using Yamaha DM1000 Digital Audio Workstation, among others.
Our student teacher ratio is 1:12, which is remarkable as it gives you room for interaction with your instructors on a personal level and regular basis. The art and craft of film making is taught through a balance of classroom instruction, practical sessions and workshops. Our faculty are handpicked from the entertainment industry's renowned professionals.
With students coming in from all over India as well as globally from countries such as New Zealand, England, France, Switzerland, Italy, Korea, Spain, Holland, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Morocco, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Bhutan, Nepal, Cameroon and Nigeria, to name a few, the academy provides a diverse and multicultural learning environment.
Digital Academy is spread over a vast area of 40,000 sq. ft., with facilities like chroma shooting floors, sound, dubbing and editing suites, an auditorium, well equipped classrooms, a mini-theatre, a well-stocked library and a viewing room. This entire infrastructure within the academy ensures easy accessibility and enhances the learning procedure.
Respected industry professionals and celebrities like Govind Nihalani, Mahesh Bhatt, Krishna Shah, B.P.Sing(Guinness book of world records holder), Ashok Mehta, Aruna Raje, Raman Kumar, Uttam Singh, Boman Irani, Ashok Pandit ,Satish Kaushik, Sanjay Gadhvi, Vivek Agnihotri, Anurag Basu, Anurag Kashyap, Vikram Bhatt, Onir, Sharmishta Roy, Reza Mirkarimi (Iranian Director whose film “ So Close So far “ was Irans entry to the Oscars in 2001), Jorge Dyzsel (Brazil), have regularly supported and conducted workshops and guest lectures in Digital Academy
